The purpose of these House Rules is to establish a standard for use of the facilities of the Town Club to the end that all members may more fully enjoy the privileges of the Club. It shall be mandatory upon the Club management to enforce these House rules until otherwise directed by the Executive Committee or the Board of Directors.

1.         HOURS


a)       The Club will open at 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, or at other such times as approved by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors. The Club will be closed at such times as may be decided by the Board of Directors, duly published to the members.


b)      The Club may legally be open until 2:00 a.m. each night, including Saturday. Normally the Club will close at 12:00 a.m. every night except Saturday and at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday unless a later hour is authorized in advanced by the Club Manager. The kitchen will close at 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, unless prior arrangements are made with the management. Should there be no members in the Club at 10:30 p.m. the Manager may close the Club at that time.

2.         PRIVILEGES

a)       Membership entitles a member’s husband or wife and resident children in their household, excluding sons or daughters over legal age (unless in the Armed Service or a student in school) to use the Club.

b)      Resident of Corpus Christi who are not members shall not be entitled to the privileges of the Club, unless accompanied by a member.

c)      Guest cards may be issued for a period not to exceed ten (10) days. Any member may issue a guest card to a non-resident guest, allowing such guest the privileges of the Club. Guest cards may not be issued to residents of Corpus Christi. Any member who issues a guest card guarantees payment of any charges made by the guest. Special arrangements for gift certificates to members and non-members may be issued.

d)      Members are to be held strictly accountable for the conduct and financial obligations of their guest(s).

e)       Club facilities may be made available through the catering office to any Club or Organization. Any party must be sponsored by a member who shall assume all responsibility for charges, etc.

f)       Members ordering a specific number of meals must pay for the number ordered, unless canceled in advance within a reasonable time.

g)      The entire Club may be reserved for special or exclusive parties when authorized by the Board of Directors. A request from any member for reserving the entire Club can be presented to the Board through the Manager.


a)       Members or guests are not permitted to pay cash for services.

b)      A service charge of 18%, or whatever amount is currently appropriate, shall be automatically added to all guest checks.

4.         CONDUCT

No boisterous or obscene language or disorderly conduct of any kind will be permitted. Members will be held strictly accountable for the character and conduct of their guests, as well as any indebtedness incurred by them. The Club reserves the right and the Manager is instructed to refuse service to any member or guest violating this rule.


The Club wants to insure that the serving of alcoholic beverages does not jeopardize the operating of the Club and the safety of its members and guests. The Club reserves the right and the management is instructed to refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any individual who, in the sole discretion the Manager on duty, may cause harm to himself, to other individuals or to property.

6.         CLUB PROPERTY

Damage to Club property by members or their guests will be charged to the account of the member responsible.


All private property shall be in or on the Club’s premises solely at owner’s risk. The Club assumes no responsibility for lost or missing property, and in consideration of the use of the privileges and facilities of the Club, members and their guests release the Club from any responsibility thereof.

8.         EMPLOYEES

No member of the Club shall reprimand or in any way punish any employee of the Club. Instances of employee misconduct and all complaints shall be made to the General Manager. Employees of the Club are not permitted to leave the Club during working hours unless directed by the Manager, and Members are requested not to send employees on errands outside of the Club without the Manager’s permission.

9.         PROPER DRESS

All male members and male guests and all female members and female guests shall wear appropriate attire when attending the Club after 6:00 p.m., except as may otherwise be authorized by the Board of Directors. Appropriate attire for the Crystal Room is “Coat & Tie” unless otherwise indicated in Club announcements. Appropriate attire for the Grill Room is “Casual” unless otherwise noted in the Club announcements.


Statements will be rendered monthly for all charges which have been incurred and unpaid up to and including the last day of the month immediately preceding the month in which the statement is sent out.

All statements are due and payable immediately upon receipt and shall be considered past due in the vent the Club has not received payment in full by the 15th of the month in which the statement is sent out.

In the event payment in full has not been received by the 15th of the month immediately following the month in which the statement is sent out, the said member shall be notified by mail of such delinquency.

In the further event payment in full is not made by the 30th day of the month immediately following the month in which the statement is sent out, all charging privileges of the member whose account is so delinquent shall be automatically suspended and service denied until the account is so paid.

In the further event the said bill is not so paid in full by the 15th day of the second month immediately following the month in which the statement went out, the delinquent account shall be submitted to the Board of Directors of the Club, who may thereupon immediately terminate the membership of said delinquent member and seek to recover the delinquent amount.

During all periods up to termination the monthly dues of the member shall continue to accrue and become due and payable together with the delinquent amount.


Advertisements, subscription lists, or notices that do not pertain to Club affairs or events may not be circulated or posted in the Club without authority of the House committee.


Private dining rooms are available to members and guests upon advanced preservation. Appropriate charges may be made if cancellation for room is not received five (5) working days prior to the event, forty-five (45) days during the holiday season. A guaranteed number of guests shall be given to the Club twenty-four (24) hours prior to date of party. Private room luncheon and dinner services are available to Club Members. Menus should be planned in advance with the Catering Director.

13.        SMOKING

Smoking is no longer allowed in the Club.


The House Committee welcomes members’ suggestions at any time as to how to improve the services for the benefit of the general membership. All complaints concerning the operation of the Club should be made to the General Manager of the Club, or to the House Committee, in which case they shall be made in writing and signed.


Any reference to gender is issued for convenience throughout this document and shall be construed to indicate the appropriate gender.

16.        AMMENDMENT

The House Rules may be amended from time to time under the recommendation of the House Committee and approval of the Board of Directors.
